TooFaced Haul

I’ve had these products for about 6 months now and I’ve had some time to decide whether these products are worth the purchase.

A must have is the Primed & Poreless powder, what a life saver! This is so good, this is my 3rd one now and there isn’t a powder like this one! It set my makeup so well and isn’t too heavy for me, I have dry skin as well and this powder doesn’t make that too obvious.

Shadow Insurance and Glitter Glue are amazing! Shadow Insurance is such good primer for my eye makeup, it stays on all day and night! The Glitter Glue is good it does the job and I have never had a problem with it personally.

Now the Born This Way foundation…. I got the lightest shade I could as my skin tone is pretty much never leave the house or seen the sun shade. I will be honest with you I hated this foundation at first, something just didn’t feel right and it didn’t sit right on my face BUT I tried it again a couple of months ago and now it’s my go to foundation for day time. It wasn’t full coverage for me but I prefer more of a natural look for day time, once you blend it in well it does leave you face flawless, the foundation colour is a bit off for me but I can make it work. I do recommend this just give it a chance!

Natural Love Palette! Yes! This is perfect for an everyday look, you can create so many looks and never get bored! I personally wouldn’t say I would use this palette for night time looks. I think what is lovely about this palette is that its suitable for all age groups, some palettes seem a tad intimidating at first but some of the subtle shades make you feel at ease. I feel if you want a starter palette or aren’t into bold looks this could be one to invest in!

Melted Latex….No. Don’t bother, I wasted money to be honest. I am all about TooFaced and I love their products but this one is a miss I’m afraid. I tried a bolder colour and it wasn’t what I expected I looked horrendous, the texture doesn’t do your lips justice and the consistency is unappealing. This product is a thumbs down overall. Give this one a miss if I were you!

Hope you enjoyed!

Favourite Red Lipsticks

Now, I have two favourite reds that I stand by: Dior 999 Matte and YSL 201. The Dior is the darker, evening red whereas the YSL seems it has a hint of orange, but still holds that beautiful, vibrant red. I love them both and they both work for me. If buying Dior 999, I do recommend getting the lip pencil just to help it stay on longer and to look even better. There is nothing in the world better than a good red lippy to bring out the sass in anyone!

Where did my independence go?

I just got back from uni…. end of my last year, so yeah, bye!

Uni was the first time I had been away from home, I couldn’t cook (still can’t, but will be forever grateful to Deliveroo), wasn’t great at ironing (still not) and not that keen on cleaning (but needs must). Three years of focusing on studies, lectures and getting pissed. I’ve come back home to two fabulous parents, but after a couple of weeks of pampered bliss, it hit me: Where did my independence go?

At uni, if I had no food in the fridge and it was too late to trek to town (or I simply couldn’t be arsed), deliverance (or deliveryJ) was just one speed dial away. Not cooking meant even when I did shop, my fridge was full of beautiful sliced bread, processed cheese, the cheapest ham and the must-have Frubes (I know it’s for children, but hell – it saved on the washing up). Don’t get me wrong, I do know how to turn on an oven… hence, on occasion, a freezer full of chicken nuggets and chips.  Now at home, the fridge/freezer is always magically full…. of healthy shit. Salad: NO! Veg: WTF!! Artisan breads: what’s wrong with plastic wrapped sliced plastic! So, why, I ask, are my fabulous parents attempting to get me used to the better things in life, when it will simply be harder for me in the long run? I need to keep to what I know in order to face the world, for when I move out and start an internship on next to nothing. I love them dearly, but they need to let me do my own thing on the food front – got to keep real!

When I was at uni I did a lot more: I had the freedom to go anywhere and not be questioned or asked what time I’d be back – I simply did my own thing, in my own time and that was the end of it.. I could be in a bad mood, lock myself away until the darkness lifted and not be questioned. Whereas now I am home, if I leave the room or I don’t talk much, its 21 questions asking why? I love that they care so much, but it is hard coming home – I feel I’ve gone back in time, I’m not a little girl anymore,  I’m 21 and can kinda do my own thing.

I have been trying out new things (this blog for one). I was always focused on getting the right results so I could go on and get some more good results… but I’ve never felt free to experiment. I’m not saying I haven’t had fun, but I’ve conformed from Day 1, never been a rebel and now I’ve done all that I am looking to conform some more: Get a job and be a good daughter. But is it hard, job requirements always seem to include something I haven’t done, or haven’t got.  I’ve tried to achieve academically so I can grow and support myself, but some days, after trawling through job opportunities, I wonder if I will ever be independent.

Have I lost my independence or am I just growing up? The more I see, the more I realise that at university I had to grow up fast and live on my own. I wasn’t well prepared, but I I did it. And if I did it once, I can do it again! I still have a lot of growing up to do, but I will get my life sorted and get done what I need to in order to get the independence I so want.

Eyeshadow Palettes Review!!

I’ll get straight into it!

My absolute favourite at the moment is Huda Beauty Textured Shadows Palette – Rose Gold Edition, I’m in love: the mix of colours is just divine. One colour I still haven’t tried yet is Flamingo, an almost neon pink – I’m not feeling it, but I just need that special moment (and possibly a Cosmopolitan or a Woo Woo or both) and I’m giving it a try! But the other colours ….. I. am. In. love. With. ‘Trust fund’ is beautiful and ‘Angelic’ is a colour I’ve not seen before so, it was fun experimenting with. They all blend well. I’ve had no problems with this palette and I love that it can be used for anytime of the day looks!

This is another one I use the most ANASTASIA BEVERLY HILLS Modern Renaissance Eye Shadow Palette. I love the colours, I’ve experimented a few times as I have never really tried to work with colours such as ‘Red Ochre’ or ‘Venetian Red’ but the more I played around, the more comfortable I get and the more I like the colours. ‘Antique Bronze’ beats them all of them – for me it’s so pretty I wish I could wear it every day!

Naked Urban Decay Smoky Eyeshadow Palette is fabulous, I normally use this for daytime, but I also bring it out when I want to put a bit more effort in with my look. My favourites within the palette are ‘High’; ‘Dirtysweet’; ‘Whiskey’; and ‘Thirteen’, these are so versatile and you can accomplish such a pretty look.

Next brand is Too Faced. The Return of Sexy is a really nice palette. I like that it comes with three leaflets and gives you three looks day/night for each section. The sections are a gold, purple and silver/grey. I like the choices and it’s nice that there is so many colours!

Too Faced Smokey Eye again has three choices, Day, Classic, Fashion. This palette is great if you’re travelling and don’t want to take up a lot of room in your bag.  I love that you can create a variety of looks from one palette – plus it comes with a tip leaflet to give you a few pointers, so if you’re starting out, it’s a great palette to play with.

Benefit Peek-a-Bright Eyes Set I love this! I use this when I am in a rush or if I’m not in the mood or just can’t be bothered with doing my face – doesn’t happen often, but you need to be prepared! It is so simple to use and if you need to travel light, this is a must. Three simple colours along with a cream – it’s such a simple palette but works wonders if you want a quick and easy look.
